My black swan costume was a success. I made my tiara and tutu Saturday and they both turned out pretty swell.

First Snow!
!
Guess what?
It SNOWED!
Knock knock.
Who's there?
Winter.
Winter who?
Winter is HERE and it's 19 degrees today!
Oh man, I am hilarious. Sometimes I don't know why I'm going to nursing school - I should just be a comedian.

THE Checklist
I received my School of Nursing checklist last week (things I need to have done by December 1) and I had my first internal meltdown. It is bit overwhelming, but I can handle it. In case you want to know the details...this is most of what I need to do...
Order Calculate with Confidenceand study Chapters 1-9 now. (Test first week of school)- Have a doctor sign off on my immunity to
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B
- Rubeola
- Rubella
- Chicken Pox
- TB
- Proof of annual HIV test
- Tetanus
- Diptheria
- Pertussis
CPR Certification for infant, children and adults.(This is surprisingly expensive - you'd think it would be free so more people would get certified)Purchase scrub tops, bottoms, white lab coats, School of Nursing patches, white leather sneakers, a watch with a second hand.- Buy a stethoscope, pen light, bandage scissors, blood pressure cuff, PEPID Rn for iPhone.
Attend Orientation in November- Pass a national background check,
finger prints, etc. (this is also not free) - Last but not least, a textbook list totaling $1000.
Geez Louise right?
That textbook bullet can kiss it - I will be scouring the internets finding way cheaper books. All campus bookstores suck. Don't ever go to them.
Next week I'm taking some time off work and knocking off a few of the most time sensitive items.
I have a paper to write tonight for a midterm that's due tomorrow. Glad I waited to the last minute on that, but I'm hoping I can just bust it out because writing papers is my thing dudes.
As you see, I have a lot on my plate between class, next semester, the craft bazaar, making my own Halloween costume and oh yeah, work. Work is also busy.
What I'm really trying to get at is, I might be slacking at some photo posting...but know it pains me deeply to have grown up things to do. =]

Tis the Season
| My little guys. |
| Winner of the pumpkin carving contest. |
Went to a friends house Thursday evening for laughs, food and snacks - and of course a pumpkin carving contest. It was a really fun evening. The boyfriend won with his ghouly hand reaching from the grave.
I have been oh-so-busy this weekend with craft bazaar preparations. Good news, I have all the earrings I need done (a friend had a good suggestion; I think I'll make extra just in case they end up being a big hit [fingers crossed]). Joe helped me finish up the pallet display which is a big relief so now all I have to do is figure out how to hang everything and maximize the space I'm working with. I'll post pictures of it all after the bazaar.
Here's to the start of a long week. Until next time...

Feels like snow...
Snow is going to reach us soon...the couds look like they are just waiting to dump on us. Alyeska already has 40 inches of snow at the top of Chair 6. Exciting!
Here's to hoping for a very fluffy season.

And as we wind on down the road...
Our shadows taller than our souls,
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show,
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard,
The tune will come to you at last
When all is one and one is all, yeah
To be a rock and not to roll.

So funny.
I especially love the part about leggings as pants. They are NOT pants people.

Hey Guys...It's Friday.
Like anyone could forget that!
I'm doing a little 30 day photo challenge with a friend and one of the days was nail polish. I might have a slight nail polish problem seeing as these are only my pinks, oranges and reds. I have lots of greys, purples, blues...well...you get the idea.
Happy weekend one and all.

Skies Above
Took this photo Friday after work (along with the daisy pictures). I stayed outside taking pictures in my work clothes until I realized my fingers were really cold and getting stiff.
Yep.

Project Updates
First of all, I have noticed full moons are so pretty rising above the mountains the last couple of nights. Just thought I should mention it.
I have been a busy little bee lately and finished up some projects. I made the hot pad that I mentioned here. I also made a hilarious sign for the laundry room that says
I've lost a sock... have you seen it anywhere? Excuse me, missus, I've lost a sock... like this one. It's like this one's fellow... it's sort of the exact opposite in fact of that - not an evil version but just, you know, a sock like this... but for the other foot. Otherwise I'd have two right...
Aldous Snow says shoe in the movie (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) but it makes me laugh and we seriously do have missing socks. So I hot glued clothes pins to the bottom where I can hang the lonely orphan socks until their fellow sock finds them again.
Between prepping for the craft bazaar and little projects around the house the days are flying by. I have lot to share about my preparations for the bazaar I hope to post about soon.
I'll catch you on the flip side.

You can see my reflection in the berry. That cracks me up - what a shiny berry.
How many times can I say berry in one super short post?
Berry, berry, berry.

Autumn Sun
Isn't the light beautiful? Every day on my way to and from work, I look around and see the mountains, the snow creeping further down, the leaves, the sun, even the rain and think to myself what a stunning place this is.
Anchorage is this sleepy little town nestled between the ocean and mountains trying to become a big city. I've been thinking lately things will never be as they are right now again. Could be worse or could be better so we should keep that in mind and make the most of it.

Mundane Things
Remember when I said I was going to take pictures of mundane things around the house? Well, I did. The weather was not cooperating with me at all. It was rainy and windy and not conducive to taking the camera out and walking about.
Although, the boyfriend and I did go down and collect rocks by the inlet. We got all we could before our fingers were cramping from the cold. I have a couple of projects in mind that I want to do before the first snowfall. One is hot gluing the stones to felt to make little pads to put hot plates and pots on...you know what I mean? Are they called hot pads? Anyway, the second project is to lay some rocks in a tray dealio by the door for people to put their shoes on so the water/salt will drain off in the rocks, rather than a rug or the floor. Thank you Pinterest, for your constant inspiration.
I find it much easier to talk about day to day things on this ole blog now that I'm not on Facebook. Not that I was ever very big into "updating" but I do feel I need some outlet for what I'm up to, if only for my family and friends. Update: still glad to not be on FB.
I guess that's my recap of my relatively uneventful weekend. I am still pretty stoked about my new lens. Sooooo, I hope the weather clears up this week and I can go scout around for some fresh outside photos.
