Goodbye 2011

This year has brought lots of changes, as most years do. I got accepted into the nursing program, I went on lots of Alaskan adventures such as hiking Crow Pass, pack rafting, going to Arctic Man, kayaking, camping, fishing, I got a sweet camera, I sold stuff online, I took an Intro to Nursing class and aced it, I lost some friends and gained some better friends. I got some sweet shoes, took lots of pictures (until winter came) and as this year is coming to a close I can't help but wonder what 2012 will bring to my shores. It will with out a doubt be a year full of new experiences for me that will hopefully ease me into this time next year, a better person. Because isn't that really what we all want? To be better people?

I hope you all have a nice night...and a great start to 2012.

Almost a New Year

I find myself having so much I need to write down, I'm not even sure where to begin.

Isn't this image lovely? So many pretty details to focus on, you could stare forever, peacefully.

Have a pleasant night.

Right Now

In an effort to de-stress, I have decided to close my Etsy shop for the time being. I haven't had the chance to really sit down and give a proper update and my full attention since the craft bazaar - which stresses me out because I know it can be better. This time of year is usually busy for everyone and with school right around the corner and the consistent stress of work, it was just one extra thing on my plate.

I'll be back at it though. Probably sooner than later. I just want to feel confident knowing that I'm putting my best foot forward for the people that stumble across it day after day. So fear not family and friends, this isn't the end.

Oh hi there

Is anyone else glad Friday finally rolled around? What a week!

Best Hockey Game to Date?

Probably so. We killed the Utah Grizzlies last Saturday night. There were several fights and more penalties than I've* ever seen in one game - the coach of the Grizzlies even got thrown out. I didn't even know that could happen! We were 5-0 for a while but with only 1:40 left they finally scored a goal. 6-1 is nothing to be ashamed of though. Fun game and nice Saturday night!

*I am not a hockey expert/buff so it's not saying that much.

Fresh Snow at Alyeska

40 inches of fresh snow in 24 hours...obviously I skipped work to go. Fun day but I'm paying for it today - lots of emails to catch up on.

End of Semester Rush

I should be done with my class by Sunday, for the semester.

That means, I have a lot of stuff due in the next 2 or 3 days.

And that means, I've been busy, people. So forgive the constant iPhone photos (unless you don't mind those?) and give me a little bit to settle back into a posting groove.

Took a short break last night to have a glass of wine and discuss the daily shenanigans of work with the boyfriend. Sometimes that is necessary before one can truly dive head first into a care plan.

Hope your week is well. Stay warm.

A Recap in Pictures

Pretty acoustic ceilings at the PAC. Love the way they look.

Warren Miller - Like There's No Tomorrow (don't be fooled by the boarder, they are mainly about skiing.)

Corona finally getting into northern climate advertising.

I am biased, but I think snowboarders have way more fun.  (and do better tricks - Travis Rice anyone? ) They were drawing for prizes here, but I went home empty handed. Again.
Drinks after the film - AK Distillery has really bumped up their game. P.S. the salmon vodka is great in a bloody mary.

Flaming Mai Tai's

I mean, who doesn't want a drink on fire? =)
Thursday is the new Friday friends.
Cheers.
