The colors are unbelievable. I came away from this weekend trip with the urge to paint in deep teals and mustard golds, bright green and grey...they all look so exceptional together. There's nothing like a few days by the ocean and in the woods for fresh inspiration.

Kayaking out of Whittier
We kayaked 8 miles Friday evening in glorious weather to a beautiful campsite. It was perfect. Saturday morning we woke up to a very steady mist that hung around all day and seemed to permeate everything- such is the weather in Whittier. It was a great trip though and I am so glad we ventured out.

The month of July has flown by. It has been incredibly busy and every day I feel the shortness of summer crouching in, so we are all trying to squeeze in as much as possible - rain or shine.
Lately, we white water rafted Lion Head's class IV rapids, adventured a 50 mile raft trip down the east fork of the Chulitna River with awesome friends, lots of camping, some fly fishing, Joe's parents and cousins visited...I feel like I have packed and unpacked my backpack a million times.
The weather has pleasantly turned sunny and warm and we are thinking fishing will be the agenda this weekend.
Hope your adventuring as well!

The Best Colors
Josh and I climbed up into this little nook while we were camping a couple of weekends ago and I was blown away by the colors. What a perfect mesh...nature always does it right.
Here's to more sun, adventures and a great 4th of July!
Miscellaneous Vatican Shots
Speaking strictly on an art level the Vatican was impressive. So much to see.
I keep having dreams about Italy, is that weird?
I think I have a few more days worth of Italy shots and then I can start working towards posting about all our Alaskan summer adventures. It's shaping up to be a great summer.
